The Cobourg and District Sports Hall of Fame is ready to celebrate another group of incredible athletes and other community members who contributed to the local sports scene.
In addition to Cobourg, the hall of fame includes Alnwick/Haldimand Township, Cramahe Township and Hamilton Township as well as Alderville First Nation.
It was announced on Oct. 9, 2020 that the 2020 induction dinner would be further delayed to November 13, 2021 and there would be no selection of 2021 nominees.
Nominations are now being accepted until Sept. 30. 2021 for the CDSHF’s class of 2022, it was noted on the organization’s Facebook page. The new inductees will be announced in March 2022.
Forms are available on the CDSHF’s website through this link.
The selection committee is looking for anyone who has contributed to local sport. Nominees do not have to be inducted because of their athletic prowess. As the mission statement on the CDSHF website suggests, the goal is to honour the names and deeds of those whose athletic prowess brought fame to their community and to themselves and to celebrate those whose interest in and work for sport resulted in a climate which benefitted the community.
