Registration remains open for Northumberland Baseball Association

The Northumberland Baseball Association posted to its Facebook page May 1 that it anticipates a safe return to the sport in the coming weeks.

Registration remains open for any children and youth interested in playing house league baseball this summer.

Pending approvals from the local health unit and the municipalities, the association is hoping to offer a 10-week house league season of games and practices for the available age groups.

Those divisions are: Coach Pitch (players born 2014, 2015, 2016) $110; 9U Rookie (2012, 2013) $150; 11U Mosquito (2010, 2011) $160; 13U Peewee (2008, 2009) $170; 15U/18U Bantam & Midget (2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007) $200.

League fees include uniform and hat, diamond use, umpire fees, insurance, team equipment and wrap-up.

Blastball (2017) is not available this season as the association arrived at the difficult decision of not offering a program for 4U this season. Protocols are strictly enforced and Northumberland Baseball wants a child’s first baseball experience to be nothing but positive. Social distancing is a big challenge for 3 and 4-year-olds and a lot of pressure on the volunteer coaches. Coach Pitch, for this season, will be a three-year program.
