AUDIO: Interview with NCAA softball pitcher Shannon Gibson

JG Sports Media’s latest audio interview guest is an NCAA softball pitcher for Georgia Southwestern State University and is from Colborne…Shannon Gibson.

In this interview, we talk about Shannon’s opportunity to return to GSW for another softball season and continue her education there, her fantastic accomplishments including become the school’s all-time pitching wins leader and throwing no-hitters, how she became involved in softball, playing for the Cobourg Angels, Whitby Eagles and Brampton Blazers as well as hockey for the West Northumberland Wild and St. Mary Thunder.

Shannon knew that softball was the sport she truly wanted to focus on.

“I knew this is what I wanted to do, I knew this is what I loved to do, but I also knew that it took a lot of time and a lot of dedication. I had amazing support from my family, who had so many sacrifices that they made for me to be able to be successful, which I am forever thankful for.”

NOTE: While we wait for local sports to return following the COVID-19 pandemic, a big part of JG Sports Media’s website content will be audio interviews, like this one.

Guests will include representatives from local sports organizations as well as other notable guests, many who have ties to this area and even some who don’t.
